In recent months, Ngee Ann Secondary School has rise to become a future school. The school is well equipped with ICT to facilitate the classroom teachings. ICT is integrated into the classroom learning setting through projects and syllabus developed by ICT committee and teachers in the school. This was applied to the different subjects and classes to make learning a more holistic experience for the students. The ICT committee continues to spearhead the research and development in providing more platforms for teachers to use.

It is clearly visible that the three master plans had set its foothold in Ngee Ann Secondary School as part of its culture in learning and growing. I am glad that, given this opportunity to experience and learn from the school. I am able to see the fruition of the master plan in the process. During my stay in Ngee Ann Secondary School, teachers have been very supportive and encouraging in their effort to help students in learning, which inspires me to be like them.

  1. It is really intriguing to find out that Ngee Ann Sec is now a future school because I live in just around the corner and being able to try out what teaching in a future school would definitely say much more than purely attending theory lessons. Lucky you!

  2. I am very excited at the prospect of having such advanced technology to teach students, where in this case, Art subject. It creates new kinds of platforms, whereby students will be very interested and intrigued and this will enhance their interest and therefore, love for the subject. I believed that we, as teachers have to be current to keep up with the flow of our students. I did contract teaching in an all-boys school, therefore, I can foresee that Second life programme will definitely be a hit with them as they are able to have fun whilst learning at the same time.

  3. What's happening in future schools sounds really fun for the student there. Moreover, I think the teachers in Ngee Ann Secondary should be quite happy that the school is developing the syllabi based on ICT use. These makes the teacher's planning of lesson to infuse ICT a lot easier. I think that with the full support of the school leaders and all infrastructures in place, there is no reason why we as teachers shouldn’t be exploring ways to incorporate ICT into students’ meaningful learning.
